Walz vs Vance; a match-up not many people initially really gave much thought to but hear me out on this. The Biden Trump debate clearly favored Trump, but not by much. Speculation as to why Jake Tapper actually moderated a decent debate still remains unanswered. I'll add that saying he moderated a decent debate means he didn't favor the democrat candidate as most do. On a level playing field, conservative policies decimate progressive ones.
The first Kamala Trump debate was a nothingburger. over 67 million viewers watched the debate, so clearly it was an important event to many. Afterwards, many felt as if neither candidate really moved the needle one way or the other. Many, me included, were actually disappointed that it wasn't a better performance.
Now we come to the third debate of the series, the VP debate. Vance and Walz are articulate. They can form coherent sentons without rambling on and don't word salad all over themselves when trying to convey a simple message. Both candidates are former military and have a lot to say about global military affairs. Both are far more intelligent than their running mates and have a lot riding on how this debate goes.
If this is the final debate of this election, both sides will be doing their best to woo over the opposing side's fringe voter base. This could be a debate that spirals or one that really focuses hard on delving into policy; an act that would leave Walz having to defend Kamala's, the proxy Biden campaign representative, disastrous choices.
